A ship with fire of 36 pounds

On Tuesday March 9 had an interview with the district council Barajas, Tomas Serrano. The meeting made by us the following proposal:

We propose, instead of or supplementing the designation of a street to Blas de Lezo, christened Blas de Lezo Park, located between the Paseo de la Alameda de Osuna, the former Coca-Cola factory, the railway and Glen, within Quarter of Alameda in the District of Barajas.

Why this proposal? Because as we saw earlier is very difficult to get a street by the lack of availability of the same. Get baptized a park is much more feasible, and it has a name. The point is that upon receiving a request as possible, it is likely that the character and Dimensionen realize its importance. It is a form of entry, the important thing is to try to raise awareness of the terrible injustice has been committed. On the other hand a park has a positive image and allows the future installation of a statue.

Why in this park? Because it had no name, is nice, the environment is good, is next to other famous parks (El Capricho, Juan Carlos I) and because it fits with the surrounding neighborhood where, Alameda de Osuna. This neighborhood has the characteristic that most of its streets refer to ships, see Carabela, Sloop, Galleon, Ship, Brigantine, Canoeing, Sailing etc. The streets of illustrious sailors are in the neighborhood of Salamanca, where it is difficult to get something, but the ships of the Alameda can be great companions to Blas de Lezo.

But come to the meeting, Councillor graciously welcomed us and tried to tell him who was Blas de Lezo, he made the proposal, we were talking about it and seeing how fit, but what sparked the spirit of Don Thomas was put to a in a neighborhood of marine vessels and support of your signatures, was that it was a citizens' initiative and not something two geeks. So I agreed to submit the proposal to the next plenary session in the Plaza de la Villa, and that is where must be approved by Ana Botella, environmental councilor, who will have jurisdiction over the parks. He handed the dossier of the proposal and signatures, and tell the council that if they happened to find out about Blas de Lezo had no doubt they would give a park, a street and a statue.

In short, we did what was in our hand, but would be ideal to contact Dona Ana Botella, to put it on record and tell you who was this guy Blas de Lezo. What Just ask the English!

PS: I facilitated the dossier of the proposal for you to see details. It's simple and straightforward, trying to convey the reasons and benefits for the city. -> Dossier <-

Great! Great work and congratulations on the step, Goyix.

BTW: Does anyone know the email contact Dona Ana Botella at City Hall? Although not as well as meet her in person, at least it might be interesting to give some historical background to Blas de Lezo, as comment in GoogleBuzz, Goyix.

I could not find it, but at least I have noted another e-Government Department of Environment, of which she is held, if, for example is useful to write a personal email, minicampaña between all organize, etc. .: ag.mambiente @ munimadrid.es

I endorse the proposal. Blas de Lezo, and a square, deserves to be present in the hearts of the Spanish, and more with the times. Indeed it is the greatest man and most unknown in the history of Spain. I am proud to be Spanish for him, and I am very sorry not to be Basque, because it could boast twice.

Definitely a man at the same height if not most of the major pro-men of history, certainly a genius, if Americans had a Blas de Lezo probably already have a city name, 20 movies and a day national, but unfortunately the Spanish of today are a bunch of mea-batteries ..
