Report:
We thank all the 139 attendees for their kindness and good will in an act like this, that to the organizers, myself included, assumed a great responsibility. In the end everything went well, with things to improve for the future but satisfied with what happened.
The tribute began with a little late for most of the audience may be present at the beginning of it. She began with the presentation of Jose Carlos of the organizers, and who was going to tell Blas de Lezo . Here are two emotional envisioned videos and passed exposures of the guests in this order: William Rocafort , Paul Victoria , and Tino Martin . Completed the same dinner was served and between courses was viewed the trailer for the documentary " Our History in the Sea "by Tino Martin one of which seek to Blas de Lezo. Before dessert was given a bouquet of flowers to a family of the descendants of Blas de Lezo who gave his life to seek and inquire about their ancestor. And at the end of the event were collected signatures to make the Madrid City Council has a street named Blas de Lezo. The tribute ended happily and the impressions conveyed to me were of profound gratitude. No excuses I have to thank my fellow sufferers, Smith, Jose Miguel, and Jose Carlos Mochales together we could pull this off.

February 19, 2008 @ 3:43I have curiosity to know about the genealogy of Blas de Lezo Amirante. It is known that he married in Lima Peru. But I did not find further details about his descendants. Could someone help with this genealogical information?
March 26, 2008 @ 16:50Thank you.
I am French, and direct descendant of Don Blas de Lezo. My grandparents were the Marquis of Ovieco, and I have the complete family tree of the descendants of this great ocean.
I feel in my soul having learned only today, and by chance, that dinner in Madrid.
In fact, although French by my father, and I live in France, was born and raised in Madrid. I have kept my attachment to Spain and I read with pain as the peripheral nationalisms are disyuntando.
Don Blas de Lezo is the historical example of a Spanish gentleman of the Basque, who fought and died defending his country and his king.
If I can be useful, count me out.
